Lyon’s gem Alejandro Gomes shines at 17—future secured, faith rewarded.

Born on March 11, 2008, in Caracas, Venezuela. Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez is a promising footballer who holds citizenship in England, Venezuela, and Portugal and is eligible to represent either of the three countries.

The 17 year old was on the list of several clubs when he left Southampton last summer. OL won the race and signed him for a reported transfer fee of £150,000 having trusted him for a long-term project.

The right center-forward who has been playing in Olympique Lyon B is known for his pace, dribbling, finishing, and off ball movement. Olympique Lyon being very happy with their talent, handed Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez his debut last night in the match against Lens.

 

Taking to his Instagram handle after his debut, Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez posted: “Proud moment for me and my family to make my debut with this amazing club. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the result we wanted, but we kept pushing.”

By coming in as a substitute against Lens, the young English center forward Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez became the 599th player in OL’s history to appear in an official match.
